Here is the story short story of Artomatic@Frederick in words from their website (www.artomaticfrederick.org)

"Artomatic@Frederick creates community, builds audience and expands economic development by transforming available space into a playground for artistic expression. Unjuried events showcase creative work in visual art, performing art, music, dance and film.

Artomatic@Frederick events are socially organic and completely open-entry; there are no juries or curators. We work to provide open access to the arts for all participants and visitors.

Emerging and established artists present their work side by side and have the chance to work with and learn from one another. The diversity of artwork and performances attract the broadest range of people, providing a forum to build institutional connections. Artists, organizations and visitors come together and illustrate the energy, vitality and strength of the arts to impact the community."

I am fortunate enough to get involved with this event just before the registration ended. I finished my installation this morning. I have met so many kind people - artists & their helpers. I briefly got to meet Dan Keplinger. His story is really amazing. If you aren't familar with his work, I strongly suggest doing a search on him. He is an inspiration.

With today being the last day to install I imagine that place is going to be a zoo! I feel for the organizers Jennifer Finley & Steven Dobbins. Doug Moulden, a friend of my dad, has a lot of responsibility supervising the buildings for the show. He is showing his paintings at Artomatic and they are amazing. He applies paint to his work with syringes. They are visually stunning.

So if you haven't already made plans to visit Artomatic@Frederick, please do. It will take more than one visit to see all the work as the buildings are complied of lots of offices and office spaces filled with all types of artwork. It is a maze and a feast for your eyes. If you can't make it between Sept. 4th and Oct. 5th...shame on you. It is free and wonderful. At least tell 10 people about it- to make up for not going yourself!

Here is a room shot of my work and some mini collages. I am showing in Bldg. 117 (there are 2 buildings, 115 & 117
